Next time you're up in space over Lake Tahoe (or just logged into Google Earth), look slightly northwest from the lake and you'll see a cluster of white lines that resemble a leaf. Those lines can only mean one thing: ski trails. But skiing is just one of the many activities available at Northstar Resort. In summer, those 3,000 acres and 89 trails are also home to bikes, hikers, and people enjoying the wealth of beauty in the Sierra Nevada Range. While visiting, you'll need a home base from which to mount your forays of fun. Well, here it is: A newly remodeled, three bedroom, two bath condo just a short 1/2 mile (free) shuttle ride from the incredible new Northstar Village where you'll find a portal to all the activities the area offers.
From your home base, you'll gaze out from the main level living room at spectacular mountain views under vaulted ceilings, warmed by the gas fireplace. Also on this level you'll find a dining area for six (plus two bar seats), a balcony with gas grill, and a full modern kitchen. The downstairs includes a bedroom with two twin beds, a washer and dryer, and a queen bedroom with a balcony. Enjoy a movie on any of the new HD flat screen TVs in each room, with DVD players in the living room and kids room. At bedtime, settle into the queen bed in the master suite upstairs where you'll enjoy a full bathroom with a sink and vanity en suite. Wi-Fi extends throughout!
Head over to the NPOA Recreation Center and use your passes to access the year-round outdoor heated lap pool, huge seasonal recreational pool, three big outdoor hot tubs, dry saunas, fitness center, seasonal tennis courts, playground, arcade, and game room with ping pong, pool tables, and air hockey! There is a $2 fee per person to enter. Or, you can shop, eat, ice skate, see a movie or experience the s'mores and fire pits waiting for you at Northstar Village.
In the summer, enjoy the 18-hole golf course, divided into the "mountain nine" and the "valley nine" for great variety. Or, you can take the gondola up the mountain and test your biking mettle on the trails and terrain features. Northstar is also centrally located to all the attractions of the area: five minutes to Truckee, five minutes to Kings Beach and Lake Tahoe, ten minutes to Crystal Bay's historic casinos and nightlife, fifteen minutes to Incline Village's dining and casino, and 30 minutes to Alpine, Squaw, and Tahoe City.
