Pushing 80, and looking great! That's what you'll say about this beautifully remodeled cabin with room for six, just five minutes from great golfing at Resort at the Mountain, 400 feet from the rushing Zigzag River, and half way to paradise. With its beautiful hardwood floors, knotty-pine paneling, and ceiling fans, this little cabin strikes just the right balance of character and convenience. Set on a double lot among cedar and vine maples, the Sandy River trails are just a short trek out your back door.
Come in! Lounge with a book by the gas stove nestled in its own brick-lined nook in the living area. Well-lit by a combination of recessed lighting and natural light through its uniquely designed windows, this is a cheery space where you'll find it easy to relax. Watch a DVD or your favorite cable show on the flat screen TV up in the loft. Bring some discs for the CD player. Oh, and load up the iPod -there's a dock for that as well. And grab the laptop top too. There's also wireless internet. In summer, head out on the big deck and enjoy the soothing sound of the Zigzag River as it tumbles by. Strum the guitar and toast some marshmallows out by the fire pit.
Meals will be easy in this modern kitchen. The space is up-to-date and elegant. From its beautiful granite counters to its slate-tiled floor, your chef will have plenty of room to maneuver here with easy prep and clean up, including a dishwasher. Not only is the kitchen fully stocked, there's also an espresso machine and an electric griddle for those morning pancakes. Gather 'round the table for four (expands to six) and plan the day's activities.
In the bedroom on the main floor, you'll find a pillow top bed with a plush down comforter. The sofa/lounger folds out into a full bed as well. There's also a full bathroom on this floor. Head up the distinctly crafted stairway and experience the loft where you'll discover a sitting area where you can look out onto the trees surrounding the property, and hear the Zigzag rushing nearby.
Mount Hood Cabin is halfway between Welches and Rhododendron and is close to five state parks. There's hiking along Mirror Lake, boating, rafting, climbing, horseback riding, fishing and more. And of course there's lots of golf around Welches. When you get hungry, the menu in Rhododendron is surprisingly diverse. Rhododendron has everything from ice cream, to pizza, to schnitzel. Watch them roast a fresh batch of beans at Mt. Hood Coffee Roasters. Skiers: This cabin is within 20 minutes of Mount Hood Meadows, Skibowl, and Timberline.
