my husband and i and baby stayed here for four nights and loved it. it's right down the street from a wonderful little restaurant and grocery store called "jackson's corner". we enjoyed the peep view of the mountain and watching all the bikers and walkers go by in the evenings. it was a very quiet and pleasant neighborhood within an easy distance of town and the old mill. the price a night was comparable to local hotels, yet we got our own front porch, a full kitchen and laundry. i would recommend it to anyone with 3 or less people!

This is a super cute and clean house in a great location for those who want to walk downtown, to the river, or other areas. Overall I would say this place is nice, but we did have a few problems:
1. There is an extremely strong air freshener/potpourri smell in this house. It hits you like a brick wall when you first arrive, and for those who are sensitive to such things (me) it was almost a deal-killer. We finally found the source to be some pinecones on the tables, once we removed those outside to the porch, it took another day or two for the smell to subside.
2. If you are trying to find this house at night, ask for specific directions because Google maps doesn't have it perfectly right, and the house #s are extremely difficult to see in the dark to find the right house.
3. I think other people have said this also but watch out for the floor between the dining room and kitchen because you are likely to trip. My husband and I took a towel and rolled it up along the length of the threshold as a reminder and that helped a lot.

Again, overall, this place is super cute and clean, perfect for 2 people and great walkability. If the potpourri issue were resolved we would definitely stay here again.

Manager Response: Thank you so much for this feedback. I understand the sensitivity to the scented pine cones and we will remove those for future guests. We do provide detailed driving directions, though we will try to make the house numbers more visible. Also, thank you for mentioning the gap in the flooring change; we glad to hear you found a good solution. We appreciate your thoughts and would be thrilled to have you back again soon.

If you like dark, rustic interiors without air-conditioning in 90 degree heat, you may love this place. It is close to downtown and is supposed to be in a "quaint" old neighborhood. Old it certainly is. However, for someone not acquainted with these small communities of craftsman cottages, it may look like something less than "quaint." Try run-down. On the left side is an empty, boarded-up house whose only virtue is that it is unoccupied. With snow on the ground, this property may actually appeal to people headed to Mt. Bachelor to ski. Not in the summer, however. The rear bedroom has no windows and was extremely hard to cool off at night. For us, dark, hot interiors are depressing and we left a day early to find better accommodations with air conditioning. One strange feature was the 1" difference between the kitchen floor and the one in the dining area. We kept tripping and stubbing our toes. The owner definitely needs to fix this and put some sort of fan in the bedroom. Best overall feature--location close to downtown.
Manager Response: Thank you for your candid review; and we're sorry to hear that this house wasn't for you. We'll be passing your suggestions on to the owners.
