Nestled between the Cape Meares Lake and the Pacific Ocean lies the Heron's Nest. With enticing ocean views and beach access just two blocks away, this light and bright, family-friendly vacation home has everything you need for your ideal beach vacation.
This two-level home has two bedrooms; the first is on the ground floor with a comfy queen bed and sliding door access to the spacious backyard, which leads back to the forest -- great for views of Cape Meares Lake and wildlife, and for enjoying the outdoor fire pit. There is a full bathroom with a washer and dryer on the ground floor as well. The second room upstairs includes another queen bed with plush bedding and a set of bunk beds, making it a great kids' space. While the home comfortably sleeps six, a queen-sized air mattress is available to accommodate up to two more. The second full bathroom is on the upper floor as well.
As you enter the spacious great room, you are greeted by a window wall of wonderful ocean views that stretch from one end of the room to the other. The oversized leather couches face the ocean and even recline to offer the maximum amount of relaxation and comfort.
An easy-to-use wood stove complements electric forced air heat, and keeps you warm on chilly nights. There are a wide array of board and card games as well as books to keep the whole family entertained. The home also includes a 32" HDTV with a DVD and VCR player, as well as a few DVDs for movie watching.
In addition, the garage is host to a plethora of outdoor toys. From sand pails and shovels to a clam gun and a canoe, you'll have plenty to do down at the beach and lake. You can even use the tide clock in the living room to find the best time to check out the tide pools and caves in the nearby cove!
A well-appointed open kitchen, dishwasher, and expandable dining table that seats six and expands to 12 makes cooking family meals an enjoyable experience. There are eight extra chairs and a folding table as well that could be used for ocean view meals on the wrap-around deck outside.
Cape Meares is a tranquil community with no services but plenty of natural wonders to keep you entertained: From the long stretch of sandy beaches, the bay for clamming and fishing to the historic lighthouse for hiking and wildlife viewing. Cape Meares is also a short drive from Tillamook for quaint restaurants, grocery stores, museums and more!
The house is dog friendly but please note the house is strictly limited to one small well-behaved dog per stay.
