What's in a name? When it comes to this gorgeous home in the quiet coastal burg of Oceanside, its commanding view of the Pacific could well be the very definition of the word, "Vista." Step out on the deck and savor the panoramic sweep of the shoreline as it bends around from Cape Meares Refuge to the mouth of Netarts Bay. You'll find picturesque Oceanside is insulated by pristine forest to its rear, and the vast Pacific in front. From your perch in this lovely four bedroom home, you'll enjoy the peace and solitude that's comes with its idyllic location.
Put your eye to the telescope and scour the horizon for ships like a captain on an old frigate. But there'll be no gales for you, as you'll be snug and warm in this beautifully decorated living area with comfy furniture. Located on the main level, you'll have access to the deck. Take off your shoes and relax! Check out what's going on in the area with your wireless device: there's free WiFi. On inclement days, head up to the entertainment room where you'll not only be able to watch your favorite movie on the DVD player or your favorite cable show, you'll have access to the deck and that gorgeous view!
This home has a fully equipped cook's kitchen, complete with modern appliances, a microwave, a dishwasher and plenty of pots, pans and utensils. That's probably a good thing since there aren't many places to eat in sleepy Oceanside. But be forewarned: you'll have to keep your cook on task, distracted as they'll be by the spectacular view in front of them. The kitchen also has a coffee grinder so you can bring your favorite beans and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee. You'll all appreciate the view from the dining table, complete with cornucopia and room for six on comfortable, padded chairs.
Vista House four bedroom sleeps eight. There are two bedrooms up, and two down, each bedecked with elegant linens and extras like a writing desk and a recliner. (The master bedroom is on a raised pedestal to make it easier to enjoy the wonderful ocean view). Since "Some Like It Hot," those Marilyn Monroe fans among you can pay homage to the star in a bedroom lined with her image and simulating her nightstand and toilette. All tolled, Vista has one king, two queen, and one full/double bed. The home has two full baths and a washer and dryer so you won't have to pack so much.
If you need a bigger choice of restaurants, Tillamook is about nine-and-a-half miles (about 20 minutes) east, otherwise, you're in a place where it's mostly about the outdoors and the sites - and there are many! Just offshore is the Three Arch Rocks Natural Wildlife Refuge. Make the six-minute trip north to Cape Meares State Park where you'll find hiking trails and a historic lighthouse. Take a hike along the coast at Cape Lookout. Right in Oceanside, you'll have a great view of Cathedral Rocks and tide-pools where you'll see anemones and sand dollars up close. Anglers can arrange a deep-sea charter out of nearby Garibaldi (less than 30 minutes), or cast their line in the Wilson, Trask and/or Tillamook Rivers. Or, if you're looking for something simple, just take a stroll on the beautiful sandy beach right in front of this home and enjoy vistas hard to match anywhere on the coast!
