As you sit in the great room of this beautiful six bedroom home in Welches, you just might have to put down your glass of Glenlivit, lay aside your journal, and walk to the grand wall of windows to check your location. No, you're not at a country estate. The wooded expanse you see is, in fact, a golf course. Specifically, the five-tee of Resort at the Mountain's Foxglove course. But you don't have to be a golfer to enjoy the luxury of this home and the many activities in the Welches, Mount Hood area.
Seated in the living area of this beautiful home, you just might be tempted to ring for the servant. Its massive floor to ceiling fireplace looks like something out of an English country manor. The tasteful and elegant accessories complete it's regal ambiance. And while you're up, stroll out onto the deck off the great room and savor the resplendent green of the links and the majestic peaks in the distance. Surf the internet with the free WIFI, listen to a CD, or watch a DVD or your favorite show on the 42" flat screen TV with cable. If it gets a little too hot in the summer, just turn on the central air conditioning.
This mountain getaway has room for 15. You'll feel like royalty in one of the two master suites. Both have their own propane fireplace, king bed, vaulted ceiling, and there is an indoor Jacuzzi tub as well. There are four other bedrooms, two upstairs with queen beds, one downstairs with a twin trundle, and a dormitory in the basement with two bunk beds, a twin bed and a half bath. The home has a total of three full and one half bathrooms. The entire main floor including the master bedroom and bathroom are wheelchair accessible.
Great for large gatherings, this home naturally accommodates each group's privacy. Over the two car garage and one of the bedrooms is a studio with a king bed that features a separate kitchenette and bathroom for added privacy.
If you're planning to go out to dinner, there are 13 restaurants in and around Welches with something for every palette. If you're staying in, this kitchen is a match for any culinary skill. Its beautiful hardwood floor, stainless steel appliances, and ample counter space is consistent with the elegant tone of the home with all the functionality you'd expect from a modern kitchen. Outside, you'll find a fire pit, so bring the marshmallows!
Of course Welches is a golf mecca. But you've got to put down the clubs some time! There's so much to do around this area. The home is located 12 miles from Government Camp and is a 30 minute drive from Timberline Ski area or Mount Hood Meadows (see Vacasa offer above.) In the Fall, you are just an hour from Hood River and a drive through some of the most beautiful orchards in the world. And don't forget your tackle box, kayak, and/or canoe. The Sandy River is right nearby. If you need something, there are plenty of outfitters in town or close by.
Things to remember: This home is wheelchair accessible. Also, all vehicles must be parked off-street, either in the garage/driveway or in gravel parking area. There's a maximum of 8 medium sized vehicles and sorry, no RV's, campers, trailers and boats are permitted
