David Preskill said: "Enjoyed two restaurants: The Rocker@Squaw and 22 Bistro, both in Squaw Valley Village. "
Officially dubbed "Olympic City" for its role as the venue for the 1960 Olympics, the name that stuck was coined by settlers who, upon first arriving, noticed the conspicuous absence of men who, as it turns out, were off in the hills hunting. Since the games, the Post Office's designation for the city has been eclipsed by the famous resort: a world-class getaway for people from around the planet. Designed after European resorts that place pools, lodging, and dining at the summit of a mountain, you can take the aerial tramway 8,200 feet to High Camp and enjoy dining, swimming in the heated pool, and a spectacular view of the surrounding peaks.
